ABOUT OTTINE MINERAL SPRINGS
Ottine Mineral Springs, nestled beside Palmetto State Park, is a historic treasure renowned for its rich legacy and commitment to health and wellness. Our extraordinary waters are rich in natural minerals and have long been known to promote relaxation, reduce stress and support overall well-being. Today, we carry on this tradition by offering a peaceful retreat where guests can experience the rejuvenating power of these waters in a calming setting that only nature can provide.
POSITION
The Retail Associate plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience at Ottine Mineral Springs. Located primarily in our resort retail space, this position is responsible for driving retail sales, managing inventory presentation, and providing exceptional customer service. In addition to retail responsibilities, this is a cross-functional role; the associate will be fully trained in front desk operations, assisting with guest check-ins, check-outs, and property reservations. This dual-focused role ensures seamless service across key guest touchpoints and offers a dynamic, engaging work environment. This position is part of an exciting new retail space opening within our resort in mid-August 2026. Official start dates are expected to be finalized in early August. This position requires some nights, weekends, and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests warmly, answer product questions, provide personalized recommendations, and actively drive retail revenue. Maintain a clean, visually appealing, and well-stocked retail floor according to brand standards. Assist the Retail Lead with receiving shipments, unpacking merchandise, tagging items, and participating in routine inventory counts. Efficiently process credit and room-charge transactions. Cross-train with the front desk team to assist with peak check-in and check-out times, ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival/departure process. Learn the resort's Property Management System (PMS) to accurately take, modify, and confirm room or activity reservations. Provide knowledgeable answers regarding resort amenities, hours of operation, local attractions, and daily activities. Maintain clear communication with housekeeping, maintenance, and hospitality teams to quickly resolve guest requests. Due to changing operational demands and the need to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires some nights, evenings, and holidays. 1-2 years of experience in retail sales, hospitality, front desk operations, or a customer-facing role (resort or boutique experience is a plus). Comfort utilizing Point of Sale (POS) systems and property management/reservation software, or a strong willingness and ability to learn. Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with guests and team members. Strong organizational skills and the ability to pivot smoothly between retail tasks and front desk support in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move retail inventory boxes up to 30 lbs. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and customer service. CPR and first aid certification a plus and /or the willingness to be trained. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures, and the capacity to communicate effectively and professionally. Ottine Mineral Springs is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity, equity, and inclusion. All employment is decided based on qualifications, merit, and business need.
