Join Our Team at Spencer Home Center Spencer Home Center is a trusted, family-owned retail business, locally owned and operated since 1981, serving contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners throughout Lexington, Virginia and the surrounding area. We're looking for a friendly, customer-focused Inside Sales Associate to join our retail sales team. If you enjoy helping customers, building relationships, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people every day. You'll assist customers in person, over the phone, and through email while helping them purchase lumber, building materials, hardware, and other home improvement products. Many of our customers are repeat contractors and homeowners, so exceptional customer service and relationship building are key to success. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are a plus. At Spencer Home Center, we believe people make the difference. We provide the training, support, and long-term career opportunities to help you succeed. What You'll Do Welcome and assist walk-in customers with their building material needs. Build lasting relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners. Help customers select products and place purchase orders. Answer customer questions about products, pricing, inventory, and availability. Process payments, returns, and account inquiries accurately. Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email. Enter and maintain customer orders and records. Coordinate with our yard, shipping, receiving, and sales teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Resolve customer concerns professionally while delivering outstanding customer service. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail sales environment. Represent Spencer Home Center's values through exceptional customer care. What We're Looking For Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills. Retail sales, inside sales, or customer service experience preferred. Experience in building materials, hardware, construction, or home improvement is a plus, but not required. Comfortable using computers and learning new software. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
