Job Description
We are looking for people with great customer service skills, a willingness to find solutions and an interest in all things hardware store. We are a unique local business with over 50 years of history, really awesome customers and a strong team. The position we are looking to fill will be balanced between a customer service role with a customer's first approach and a strong role in our retail inventory management. Work directly with customers in the store, including point-of-sale and customer service in the retail environment. Handle cash, check and credit card transactions. Accurately scan and enter SKUs into a sales software system. Answer phones and assist with basic product questions. Assist with restocking shelves. Clean and organize merchandise and assist with labeling products. Assist with inventory control and counting. Lift at least 20 lbs. without assistance. Fill out accurate paperwork and order information. Assist with the placement of retail item purchase orders. Assist with planning for seasonal inventory changes. Assist with changing of retail plan-o-grams Involved with store layout and product change decisions. Other duties as assigned. Weekend shift rotation required (Saturday 8am-4pm) Opportunities for growth include training and product knowledge in our sales team responsibilities such as paint counter or the various custom order materials including roofing, siding, windows and doors, tile and flooring, kitchen and bath, etc.
