Job Description

ComputAbility in Ellensburg is looking for an organized, dependable part-time Shop Assistant to keep our repair shop running smoothly. This is not a repair technician position. If you like finishing what you start, keeping things in order, and working with people, this is the job.
Hours:
12 to 18 hours per week, mostly afternoons, with occasional evening blocks working alongside the owner. Some flexibility on days. Hours may grow over time for the right person, and for someone who shows the aptitude and interest, there may be a path toward a technician role.
Pay:
$18 to $20 per hour depending on experience, with a raise to $19 at 45 days for those who start at $18 and prove reliable. What you'll do Check in customer repairs and retail transactions at the counter, and explain status and pickup to customers clearly Price, label, and shelve incoming merchandise the day it arrives Prepare parts and supply orders for the owner's approval, and process returns and RMAs Run occasional local errands (post office, supply pickups, deliveries) Organize and maintain backstock so we know what we have before we order Review invoices and tickets for accuracy before they go out Help the owner in the evenings with organizing, parts pulls, and keeping repairs moving Keep the shop floor and repair area clean and orderly Who we're looking for Conscientious and organized. This is the most important qualification. You finish what you start, you keep track of details without being reminded, and you notice when something is out of place or priced wrong High school diploma or GED Comfortable and courteous with the public in person and on the phone Basic computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, learning our ticketing system). You do not need repair skills Able to work with little supervision once trained Clear spoken and written English Able to lift up to 50 lbs Professional appearance and demeanor Valid driver's license and good driving record Retail, front desk, inventory, or office experience is a plus.
