JOB SUMMARY
Perform leadership, management and organizational tasks to ensure Quality assurance employees work efficiently and effectively during their shift. Perform QA inspections on completed and in-process parts per customer requirements including drawings specifications and aerospace industry standards. Manage and coordinate production activities associated with a specific facility. Maintain and lead the security, safety, and general operation of the facility and maintain responsibility for customer interface. Manage directly or through influence a variety of personnel (both direct and indirect) by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities to meet production Quality requirements, organizational initiatives and polices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for direct supervision of department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
With assistance from department director plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations which ensure the most effective return on assets while meeting customer production requirements. Ensure production output is compliant with customer and process specifications. Initiate and lead activities which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties Assist in the interpretation of specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements as needed Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials and parts sent for customer. Implement operational strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports WFDC strategic initiatives Actively communicate with other Manufacturing Leads to optimize output of individual facility and output of Pathfinder Mfg. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency. Optimize manpower utilization through a staffing plan, people allocation to shifts, and cross training Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment - Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems Manage disagreements / conflicts between employees and facilitate discussion or involve HR as appropriate Promote clear and consistent communication so that all personnel on all shifts are equally informed Communicate all significant employee related issues to HR and departments Director. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals Continually improve safety culture and safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee attitudes toward safety and use of PPE. Monitor and maintain high standards for housekeeping in all areas to ensure safe and productive work areas Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times. Maintain safe working practice's and ensure area is clean and free of any possible dangerous situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced in the manufacturing or finishing industry Aerospace Manufacturing experience preferred High school diploma Ability to Perform activities of workers supervised Ability to utilize computer and Microsoft Office as a productivity tool 3 years inspection experience;
QA, QDI, QC.
Strong leadership skills. Able to make independent decisions based on input Strong planning skills. Able to plan and request resources based on a production forecast Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles Comfortable communicating and explaining performance metrics and any deviation from plan Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on data Ability to read and interpret Aerospace blueprint documents Attention to detail Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace Accepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, basic geometry and trig skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, or manipulate parts. Ability to provide direction and guidance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 2 years supervisor experience preferred 3 years of inspection experience
