Job Description
The SYM Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, personnel, and logistical functions of the site while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, and adherence to company core values. This role involves managing employees, ensuring smooth operational systems and fostering a positive and professional work environment.
JOB DUTIES
Lead and manage a team of Load & Securement Specialists, Spotters, and Shift Supervisors. Handle HR-related functions such as payroll, employee bonuses, interviewing, hiring, and managing disciplinary processes. Conduct employee performance reviews. Manage the load system including cancellations, trailer allocations, and auditing securement equipment. Ensure all weekly loads are completed and marked ready to bill daily. Oversee and maintain securement equipment inventory for SYM and carriers. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols by Supervisors and Employees. Partner with the USG to address daily operational needs, resolve load or trailer issues, or address billing questions and concerns. Communicate effectively with carriers, USG, and corporate SYM/TFL departments, including HR, Accounting, IT, and Road Repair. Schedule repairs for spotter trucks as needed. Ensure timely ordering and stocking of essential supplies, including PPE, securement equipment, office supplies, and truck fuel. Submit daily inventory and yard check reports. Ensure continuous integration of core values: Safety, Service, Positive Attitude, and Respect in daily operations. Proactively collaborate and communicate with USG plant to become an extension of their operations. Other duties as assigned. Must be a self-starter and have a positive, "can-do" attitude. Must have a strong work ethic with the ability to work under minimal supervision. Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, and twisting. Must be able to perform occasional heavy lifting.
