Veterinary Surgery Department Manager Full-time | On-site | $30+/hour, DOE Are you an experienced veterinary professional who thrives in a leadership role and genuinely loves both people and pets? What You'll Do:
As the Surgery Department Manager, you'll be the go-to leader for our Surgery team guiding daily operations, fostering staff development, and ensuring high standards in patient care and client service. You'll work directly with the GP Department Director and A Hospital Leadership to drive efficiency, collaboration, and morale across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage monthly team scheduling using WhenToWork Coordinate team time-off while ensuring adequate coverage and workflow Lead veterinary, technical, and support staff with clear communication and compassionate leadership Oversee Surgery inventory and coordinate with our Inventory Coordinator Support client service by resolving concerns with empathy and professionalism Organize training sessions, department meetings, and team-building events Maintain AAHA standards and ensure consistent compliance Participate in hospital-wide collaboration with other department leaders
What We're Looking For:
2+ years of experience in a leadership role within a veterinary Surgical Department. Veterinary Technician license preferred but not required Confident leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient with EzyVet, SmartFlow, Excel, WhenToWork, Slack, etc. Tech-savvy, organized, and calm under pressure A self-starter who's enthusiastic about mentorship, growth, and client service
Physical Requirements:
This role is hands-on and active you'll be walking the hospital floor, communicating with teams, lifting up to 50 lbs, and using technology daily. You'll also participate in meetings, training, and collaborative projects.
Compensation & Schedule:
