Purpose To assist and directs the night crew personnel and ensures that grocery merchandising is complete for store opening. This is a management/leadership position (45+ hours per week). Responsibilities Demonstrate the ability to learn all aspects of the night crew manager, fill in for night crew manager when necessary. Schedule, develop, counsel, train, and direct department supervisors and other personnel. Make recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to Store Manager. Review and approve timecards. Draft and participate in presentation of employee performance evaluations. Oversee and coordinate with the grocery buying team on product placement including building endcaps, placing seasonal and promotional products. Ensure accurate signage is in place and notify POS department and Grocery buying team of missing labels and incorrect prices. Ensure maintenance of warehouse that product is store in a clean, safe, organized manner. Provide directions to staff to ensure that displays are fully stocked and neatly organized and prepared by store opening. Ensure proper ordering and receiving to maintain appropriate stock levels. Implement and uphold safety procedures for staff and overall store safety. Assist in other area/departments of the store as needed/necessary. Knowledge & Skills Basic financial and math skills required. Computer literacy (excel & spreadsheets) required. Excellent communication skills. Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines. Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize. Management experience and merchandising experience preferred. Education & Training High school diploma or GED preferred. Licenses & Certifications Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire. Other Must be 18 years of age to operate equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Able to stand for extended periods of time.
