Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Machine Shop Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of the machine shop's production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will drive a culture of safety, innovation, and operational excellence, empowering your team to meet and exceed production goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Duties Lead and manage daily machine shop operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize output and efficiency. Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and process improvements to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and improve overall workflow. Oversee supply chain management activities, including inventory control, procurement coordination through ERP systems like SAP and MRP modules, and supply chain analytics to ensure timely delivery of materials. Monitor quality control procedures to uphold product standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions promptly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing manufacturing processes, leveraging ERP systems for data-driven decisions, and fostering a culture of innovation. Manage plant safety programs, enforce compliance with safety regulations, and promote a safe working environment for all team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, process optimization, assembly line efficiency, and supply chain management strategies. Develop leadership within the team through training programs focused on mechanical knowledge, process improvement techniques, and operational best practices. Skills Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or machine shop environment with strong knowledge of mechanical systems. Expertise in ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms; familiarity with MRP modules for inventory and production planning is essential. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies (like Six Sigma), and process optimization techniques. Excellent skills in supply chain management including logistics coordination, supply chain analytics, and inventory control. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment while fostering collaboration and accountability. Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures to ensure product excellence from raw materials to finished goods. Ability to analyze complex data sets related to operations management to identify opportunities for efficiency gains. Strong communication skills with the capacity to articulate technical information clearly across departments.
