Job Description
About the role We're a neighborhood coffee bar and bottle shop, and we're looking for a Team Lead / Store Manager to run the floor, lead the team, and own the day-to-day of the store. You'll still pull shots and recommend a great bottle of wine, but your main job is making sure every shift runs smoothly, the team is set up to succeed, and the store looks and feels its best every day. We want someone who takes ownership, big or small. You lead by example, stay calm when the line is out the door, and hold yourself and the team to a high standard. What you'll own Team leadership Lead and coach baristas and retail associates on every shift you run Train new hires on espresso, drink standards, POS, wine & spirits basics, and store procedures Build and manage the weekly schedule; cover call-outs and keep shifts properly staffed Run shift handoffs so nothing falls through the cracks between opening and closing Give regular, direct feedback and flag performance issues to ownership Store operations Own the opening and closing checklists and make sure they're completed to standard every day Manage inventory for coffee, milk, pastries, snacks, drinks, wine, and spirits; place orders and keep us from running out Receive and verify deliveries, reconcile against invoices, and update inventory in Square Handle cash management, register counts, and end-of-day reporting Keep product fronted, labeled, and merchandised across shelves, fridges, and wine displays Coffee program Dial in and maintain espresso calibration for the current roast and conditions, and teach the team to do the same Keep drink quality and speed consistent during busy periods Make sure all coffee bar equipment is cleaned, maintained, and in good working order; coordinate repairs when needed Wine & spirits and customer experience Guide customers on wine, beer, and spirits selections and help the team build product knowledge Ensure responsible alcohol sales, including ID checks on every age-restricted purchase Resolve customer issues with a friendly, solutions-first approach Cleanliness and standards Maintain a top-notch approach to cleanliness and sanitation across the bar, counters, fridges, and floor Keep the storefront and entryway clean and welcoming Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times What we're looking for 5+ years of barista experience, including dialing in espresso and handling rushes solo 3+ year in a lead, shift supervisor, or management role (coffee, restaurant, or retail) 5+ years of customer service experience Retail or convenience experience, including inventory and receiving Wine & spirits knowledge preferred — we'll help you grow it Comfortable with Square POS (or similar), scheduling, and basic inventory tracking Organized, dependable, and able to lead a team without being micromanaged Must be at least 21 years of age Schedule 2-3 shifts on the "floor" plus hours away from the floor Weekend availability required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Benefits Hourly pay plus tips (when applicable) Employee discount
