Job Description
Definition of a bike rental shop manager: A professional chaos coordinator and vacation air-traffic controller, part salesperson, part mechanic, part fortune-teller, part tour guide, responsible for employees, tourists, broken bikes, missing locks, dead batteries, late returns, and convincing someone who came in for a $15 cruiser that what they really need is an e-bike. Somehow keeps track of every bike that leaves, every bike that comes back, every key nobody can find, and every problem that suddenly becomes "a manager issue," all while keeping the customers smiling, the employees working, the shop profitable, and answering "How far is Venice?" for the 47th time that day. So with that being said, are you someone who's not afraid to get greasy at our Santa Monica truck operated business? Here's what we mean: You know how to work a killer schedule that fits everybody's needs Your communication is 10/10 up and down the assembly line You have a strong grasp of California employment laws because you've managed before You know how bikes work and can do basic maintenance on regular bikes and e-bikes You want to be part of a growing organization aiming for 10 locations (that's growth room for you) You're a leader so you lead by example and also continue to develop your abilities to build a strong shop and healthy team You know how to sell customers on real recommendations that actually help — not useless add-ons — so both the shop and the customer stay happy You like to improve things… that wonky toolbox? Yup, you're on it and finding a new one not just "dealing with it" You're a competitor who takes pride in being the #1 bike rental shop in Santa Monica and want to keep it that way You know our customers can be a little tricky, but that doesn't intimidate you.
