Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Personnel Door Field Supervisor is responsible for leading a specialized crew in the installation, service, and repair of commercial door systems while ensuring all work meets strict building codes and quality standards. This role manages the full project lifecycle, from coordinating materials and scheduling with general contractors to overseeing site safety and equipment maintenance. By providing consistent training and performance feedback, the Supervisor fosters a productive team environment focused on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Organize the team's daily schedule, lead meetings, and give coworkers helpful feedback on their work. Build, replace, and repair commercial doors and frames while solving any mechanical problems that pop up. Teach new workers how to do the job safely and help the team fix mistakes so they don't happen again. Talk with contractors to finish jobs on time and make sure all the right parts and tools are ready before a job starts. Follow all safety rules and check work areas regularly to keep them clean and free of danger. Find ways to keep costs low while making sure every job is done fast and looks great. Use apps and tablets to track your work, turn in digital forms, and stay in touch with the office and customers. Keep the company truck and tools in good shape and return any rented gear as soon as the job is done. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of commercial personnel door installation and low-voltage electrical systems, including the specific technical requirements for troubleshooting and reading blueprints to ensure code compliance. Advanced mechanical skill in stick welding and the proficient operation of industrial machinery, such as forklifts and scissor lifts, to complete heavy-duty structural tasks safely. The ability to maintain strict compliance with
CAL OSHA
10, CPR, and DOT standards while managing a valid CA driver's license and passing all required background and physical screenings. Skill in delivering responsive, high-quality customer service. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Advanced proficiency (knowledge) with Microsoft Office 365.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regular fieldwork at indoor and outdoor customer sites. Extended periods in varying environmental conditions, including weather and noise. Frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and operation of hand and power tools. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL
This job requires no planned business travel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred. Combined experience in commercial personnel door installation and low-voltage electrical systems practices of 3 or more years with education is desirable. Previous experience with Welding, Mechanical Knowledge, Hydraulic knowledge, and Electrical.
