Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dispensary General Manager to lead our retail cannabis dispensary with enthusiasm, strategic vision, and operational excellence. The two most important attributes this candidate must possess are a proven ability to drive sales growth and strong people-management and leadership skills. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store operations, manage a diverse team, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive sales growth. Your leadership will foster a positive work environment, uphold compliance standards, and optimize inventory management to deliver an outstanding experience for both customers and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the success of our dispensary while maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Grow sales in this market sector which is currently experiencing diminishing sales. Lead and supervise all aspects of dispensary operations, including staffing, sales management, inventory control, and customer service excellence. Recruit, interview, onboard, and train team members to ensure they meet performance expectations and adhere to company policies. Manage daily shift operations, including cash handling, POS system management, merchandising, and stock replenishment. Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory management to maximize profitability and minimize loss. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and foster a motivated team environment. Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, payroll processing, and budget management to support operational efficiency. Ensure store cleanliness, organization, safety protocols, and adherence to health regulations at all times. Utilize strong communication skills for effective managerial communication with staff and customers alike. Implement training programs focused on customer service skills, product knowledge—including retail store product knowledge—and operational procedures. Monitor sales trends using POS systems and retail math principles to optimize product placement and promotional activities. Skills Proven management experience in retail or similar environments with supervisory responsibilities in a fast-paced setting. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (POS), purchasing procedures, and cash handling protocols. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus. Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development. Skilled in negotiation, pricing strategies, merchandising techniques, and retail sales management. Proficient in bookkeeping tasks such as payroll processing and basic math calculations for daily operations. Experience with operational management including shift scheduling, budgeting, inventory control, and store maintenance. Ability to lead teams with confidence using managerial communication skills; previous assistant manager or store manager experience preferred. Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store experience is advantageous but not required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock stocking, merchandising standards, and store presentation. Knowledge of retail industry sales team management practices combined with leadership qualities that inspire teamwork.
