Hourly Assistant Manager (Hands-On Floor Leadership Role) Fork Hospitality - 3.0 New Haven, CT Job Details Part-time | Full-time $23 - $26 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits 401(k) Paid time off Employee discount Flexible schedule Retirement plan Qualifications Spanish Maintaining an organized workspace Guest relations Bussing Shift management English Managing hospitality teams Mid-level Store opening/closing procedures Bar Team management Food service management experience (Less than 1 year) 1 year Clean workspace maintenance Leadership Communication skills Food service management Customer complaint resolution Full Job Description We're looking for an Hourly Assistant Manager to lead the floor across our New Haven concepts — running shifts, taking care of guests, and keeping the team sharp from open to close. This is a hands-on leadership role — not a clipboard-and-corner-office position. You'll be on the floor, in the mix, setting the pace for your team and owning the guest experience every shift you run.
What You'll Do:
Open and close the restaurant — set the tone at the start of shift, lock it down at the end Own guest satisfaction during your shifts, including handling guest recovery when things don't go to plan Manage and direct staff in real time — keep service moving, hold the standard, support the team Run a clean, organized, well-paced floor Step in wherever needed — expo, service, bar support, seating Communicate with BOH to keep service tight and timing on point Handle the small problems before they become big ones What This Role Is (and Isn't): You're not behind the host stand all night and you're not hiding in the office. You're on the floor leading by example, talking to guests, and supporting your team. If a table needs to be bussed, you're bussing it. If a guest is unhappy, you're fixing it. This is working leadership.
Requirements:
1+ years of restaurant experience Strong communication and leadership instincts — able to direct a team mid-rush without losing the room Fully flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays) Ability to stand for long shifts, lift 30+ lbs, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment Reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-driven Serving and/or bartending experience is a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus If you're someone who leads from the front, takes ownership of every shift you run, and wants to grow with a hospitality group that's building something real — we want to talk.
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Retirement plan
Work Location:
In person
