The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time position responsible for opening/closing and daily running of the store in conjunction with the Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager assists the manager in applying all rules that pertain to the daily operation of the store, spends the bulk of the day on the selling floor, possesses exceptional jewelry and watch knowledge, and addresses customer and staff problems and concerns. The Assistant Manager is also expected to contribute to the overall sales and profitability of the store, demonstrate strong security awareness, and control inventory. As a member of management reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager is also expected to be a symbol of exceptional customer service, be a role model for the company's Mission Statement, Core Values, and senior management's goals and objectives. The Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are both expected to have clear and open communication with all corporate departments and be a voice for the store in expressing wants and needs that are in the best interest of the store and staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Sales & Customer Service:
handle all aspects of selling in a professional, highly productive manner embracing and applying Lux Bond & Green's core values of respect, integrity, communication, confidentiality, and teamwork in every interaction. Complete all sales and service documentation and related responsibilities including gift-wrapping, shipping, special orders, thank you notes, etc. in a timely and accurate manner. The Assistant Manager should be one of the top sales contributors in the store.
Client Development:
Be a role model for clienteling and customer outreach to drive new business and communicate regularly with existing client base utilizing tools such as Podium. Active in event planning for the store including trunk shows, special events, holiday parties, etc.
Use of Technology:
Embrace and adapt to new and existing technology such as Podium, Wells Fargo, Jewelers Mutual, and work with staff to utilize all technology to the fullest. Exhibit mastery of the point-of-sale system capturing and entering all client data such as mobile phone, email, birthday, employment, etc.
Inventory Control:
take responsibility for new tickets, price changes, receiving, transfers, and accurate stocking of merchandise. Regularly assign spot inventories, assist with year end inventory and reconciliation to help solve discrepancies and eliminate loss. Monitor expenses such as the use of bags, supplies, etc. to help the company run as profitably as possible.
Change Agent:
As the retail environment is rapidly changing, it is important for all management to be the leaders and champions of change of all new directives and initiatives from the senior leadership as pertaining to merchandise mix, services, technology, CRM, compensation, and community out-reach.
Store Maintenance:
keep merchandise displays fresh, exciting, properly stocked, and presented in an organized and attractive fashion. Ensure the store, both inside and outside, is outstanding in its appearance and cleanliness by assigning and assisting with daily cleaning of giftware and jewelry areas, vacuuming, and overall housekeeping of the store (trash removal, dusting, front flowerpots, etc.).
Security:
ensure all security procedures are followed on a daily basis such as maintaining proper coverage on the sales floor, showing one piece of merchandise at a time, locking all cases and being constantly aware of activity in the store.
Keyholder:
open and close the store as needed and handle all paperwork and systems requirements associated with the POS system and sales posting for the day including the counting and balancing of the registers and petty cash. Cooperate with the alarm company in the event of alarm issues or after hours' alarm calls and follow all company and alarm procedures.
Service/Repair:
be able to perform basic service procedures such as sizing links in a watch bracelet and changing watch batteries in order to facilitate the sale process and provide superior customer service. Have a full understanding of and assist with the take in of repairs including checking items for damage, use of the repair system, and sending merchandise out for repair.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a luxury sales environment, preferably jewelry/watches. Demonstrated skill in managing people. Proficient in the use of POS systems and basic Microsoft Office suite.
EQUIPMENT USED
Use of all equipment standard for jewelry business, e.g., loupe.

Strong customer service orientation. Strong team player able to work with all levels of associates. Treats others with respect, integrity and courtesy.
PHYICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires regular standing, talking, hearing and manual dexterity, frequent walking and reaching with occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting up to 10 lbs. Standard vision abilities, including color and depth perception are required alongside the use of a jewelers loop or magnification equipment. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals to perform essential functions and compliance with the ADA.
