Job Description
The Shop Supervisor will manage day to day operations of a Class 8 maintenance shop. The role is responsible for working with all shop team members on their development within the shop and ensure all shop policies and procedures are being followed. Responsibilities Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel Perform team member evaluations based on company schedule Manage and develop shop team members Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed Ensure best practices are being followed by shop team members for repairs Open and close repair orders as needed Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures Assign work to shop team members Order inventory for shop based on guidelines Receive and stock inventory for small parts room Perform repairs on class 8 equipment Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities In-depth knowledge of Class 8 tractor maintenance processes Strong mechanical aptitude Strong problem solving skills Ability to lead individuals and teams Strong time management skills Strong communication skills Leadership abilities Ability to prioritize multiple projects at once Education/Experience High school diploma or GED required 2+ years in a leadership role required Competitive Compensation We believe in rewarding excellence.
