Operations Manager Position Summary The Assistant Manager is the right hand of the Operations Manager and plays a key role in the day-to-day operation, presentation, organization, and success of Athletica Health & Fitness

•Coral Springs. This position is designed for someone who wants to grow . We are looking for an individual with drive, initiative, leadership potential, strong work ethic, and the desire to develop into the next level of management within Athletica . The Assistant Manager will be exposed to every area of club operations and will be expected to learn the business from the inside out. This is not a position for someone who waits to be told what to do. The Assistant Manager must be proactive, dependable, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable taking ownership.

Simply put:

if something needs to get done in the club, the Assistant Manager should be willing and able to help make it happen. Right Hand to the Operations Manager The Assistant Manager's primary responsibility is to support the Operations Manager in all aspects of club operations .

This includes:

Assisting the Operations Manager with daily club responsibilities. Helping execute operational priorities and management directives. Following up on assignments until they are fully completed. Stepping in when the Operations Manager is unavailable. Helping identify problems before they become larger issues. Communicating important club, staff, member, maintenance, and operational concerns. Learning how and why operational decisions are made. Taking increasing ownership as knowledge and leadership ability develop. Being prepared to help manage the facility whenever necessary. The expectation is not simply to "help" the Operations Manager. The expectation is to learn from the Operations Manager and develop the skills necessary to eventually take on greater leadership responsibility.

CLEANLINESS & CLUB PRESENTATION

PRIORITY

#1 Cleanliness is the number-one operational priority. The Assistant Manager is responsible for helping ensure that Athletica is consistently clean, organized, presentable, and ready for members.

Responsibilities include:

Conduct regular walkthroughs of the entire facility. Inspect bathrooms, locker rooms, gym floor, cardio areas, studios, offices, front desk, entrances, common areas, and other member-facing spaces. Ensure cleaning expectations are being followed by staff. Immediately address cleanliness issues rather than walking past them. Ensure supplies are properly stocked. Identify areas requiring deep cleaning or additional attention. Hold staff accountable for assigned cleaning responsibilities. Report recurring cleanliness problems to the Operations Manager. Maintain the visual standards and overall presentation of the facility. Every manager owns cleanliness. If the Assistant Manager sees something that needs attention, the expectation is to address it. Maintenance, Repairs & Facility Follow-Up The Assistant Manager will assist the Operations Manager with facility maintenance and repair coordination.

Responsibilities include:

Identify broken or damaged equipment. Document maintenance concerns. Submit or assist with repair requests. Follow up on outstanding repairs. Maintain communication regarding parts, vendors, service appointments, and repair status. Ensure completed repairs are verified. Keep management updated on unresolved issues. Follow up repeatedly when necessary rather than assuming a request will be handled. Help maintain organized records of repairs and maintenance. Identify safety concerns and escalate them immediately. A repair being submitted does not mean the responsibility is finished. Follow-up and completion matter. Staff Management & Leadership The Assistant Manager will help supervise and develop club staff.

Responsibilities include:

Help oversee front desk and operational employees. Ensure staff members are in proper uniform and maintaining professional standards. Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance. Help train new employees. Reinforce policies and procedures. Coach employees when expectations are not being met. Communicate staff concerns to the Operations Manager. Help resolve day-to-day employee issues. Lead by example. Maintain a professional management presence throughout the facility. Help create accountability without creating a negative work environment. The Assistant Manager should be comfortable having conversations, correcting problems, giving direction, and following up. Scheduling & Coverage The Assistant Manager will assist with: Employee schedules. Shift coverage. Call-outs. Time-off requests. Schedule changes. Identifying coverage gaps. Communicating schedule expectations. Ensuring proper staffing levels throughout the club. Helping prevent unnecessary overtime and scheduling issues. The Assistant Manager should become capable of understanding the staffing needs of the entire operation. Sales Support While the Sales Manager may lead the club's sales strategy, every manager is responsible for supporting sales and revenue.

The Assistant Manager will:

Understand membership options and promotions. Assist with tours and membership sales when needed. Support lead follow-up. Help ensure front desk staff understands basic sales expectations. Identify sales opportunities during member and guest interactions. Support guest-pass conversion. Promote personal training and other club services. Work alongside the Sales Manager and PT Director when necessary. Help execute sales promotions and campaigns. When the club needs help, the Assistant Manager should be able to step into sales and contribute. Administrative Responsibilities The Assistant Manager will help maintain the organization behind the operation.

Responsibilities may include:

Paperwork Reports Filing Staff documentation Checklists Schedules Internal communications Tracking sheets Membership-related documentation Maintenance records Incident documentation Employee documentation Vendor information Operational forms Printing and preparing materials Maintaining organized digital and physical records Attention to detail is extremely important. Documents should be accurate, professional, organized, and completed on time. Marketing, Flyers & Promotions The Assistant Manager will assist with the execution of club marketing initiatives.

This may include:

Creating and distributing flyers. Preparing promotional materials. Ensuring club signage is current and professional. Helping promote events and challenges. Supporting social media content when requested. Helping execute membership promotions. Conducting local outreach. Building relationships with neighboring businesses. Helping generate ideas that increase club traffic and engagement. Ensuring marketing materials throughout the facility remain updated. Events & Member Engagement The Assistant Manager will assist in planning and executing club events, including: Member appreciation events. Fitness challenges. Holiday events. Community events. Charity initiatives. Health and wellness events. Promotional events. Vendor activations. Special classes and programs. Outreach events. Responsibilities may include planning, setup, promotion, staffing, execution, member communication, and cleanup. The Assistant Manager should be willing to be actively involved from beginning to end. Member Service & Problem Resolution The Assistant Manager is part of the management team and therefore responsible for helping maintain a high level of member satisfaction.

This includes:

Addressing member concerns professionally. Resolving issues whenever possible. Escalating serious matters appropriately. Following up with members when promised. Maintaining professionalism during difficult conversations. Helping protect member retention. Ensuring staff members provide welcoming and professional service. Building relationships with members and understanding the needs of the club community. Daily Operational Awareness The Assistant Manager should know what is happening throughout the club.

That means being aware of:

Problems are addressed. Management is informed. And responsibilities do not fall through the cracks. The Assistant Manager should eventually reach the point where leadership can say: "I can trust this person to handle it." That is the standard for this position and the foundation for becoming the next leader within Athletica Health & Fitness.
