Assistant Store Manager - RetailJob Description We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, including employee supervision, customer service, sales, merchandising, inventory control, and cash-handling procedures. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with previous retail experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead employees while maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers. The Assistant Store Manager will also assume responsibility for store operations when the Store Manager is unavailable. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support the Store Manager with daily store operations and overall store performance. Supervise, motivate, and provide guidance to store employees. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service. Handle customer questions, concerns, complaints, returns, and exchanges professionally. Assist with training new and existing employees on company policies, procedures, and customer service standards. Monitor employee performance and communicate any concerns to the Store Manager. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash register balancing and other required daily processes. Operate the cash register and ensure transactions are completed accurately. Assist with inventory control, receiving merchandise, restocking, and conducting stock checks. Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, priced, organized, and fully stocked. Help maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store. Monitor the sales floor and assist the team in meeting store sales and operational goals. Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and loss-prevention practices. Assist with employee scheduling and coverage as needed. Take responsibility for store operations in the Store Manager's absence. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or management.
