An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

- Operate cash registers and manage financial transactions
- Oversee shift management and ensure efficient store operations
- Conduct employee orientation and provide ongoing training
- Deliver exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate records
- Utilize POS systems for sales transactions and inventory management
- Support budgeting efforts and monitor expenses to optimize profitability Skills
- Proficiency in cash register operation and financial management
- Strong ability to manage shifts effectively and lead a team
- Experience in employee orientation, training, and development
