Job Description

General Description Complex supervisory and technical work in supervising a major division of the Clerk's Office. Essential Job Functions Essential functions are fundamental job duties. They do not include marginal tasks which are also performed but are incidental to the primary functions. Supervises and participates in the work of employees in a complex operation; Inputs data on computer system; Recommends and implements procedures to increase productivity; Prepares and submits budgetary requests for Department; Assists public at the counter and collects and receipts funds collected; Assists the Clerk with duties in the Courtroom and duties assigned by the Judges; Advises Clerk of Courts of changes in laws and rules of Court; Manages work schedules/deadlines for appeals/court attendance within the unit; Maintains time sheets of department & establishes work schedules/assigns employees to tasks; Evaluates employees work performance and makes recommendations to administrative superior; Trains employees in specified phases of the work; Performs duties of the employees within assigned division; Maintains or supervises more complex records within the unit; Operates and coordinates maintenance of equipment within department; Sorts and files all paperwork; Represents the division at staff meetings; Balances cash and prepared daily balancing functions; Adheres to Florida Statutes concerning court operations; Determines necessity for additional supplies and equipment for assigned unit & orders same; Trains new employees and evaluates employee performance; Assists in planning and organization of operations of the office; Performs related duties as required. All employees may have a role in the County's disaster preparation and/or disaster recovery efforts, as may be designated in the County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS
Manual dexterity, good vision, hearing and speaking skills in order to communicate with public.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Office.
KNOWLEDGE OF
Procedures, practices unit rules, regulations, policies, and laws applicable to the division.
ABILITY TO
Plan, organize, assign, supervise and inspect the work of subordinates; work with elected officials, attorney and public; exercise good judgment and make decisions; keep technical records; make reports.
SKILLS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED. Eight (8) years clerical experience in court related work, three (3) years must be related to advanced work responsibilities in court related positions in a supervisory capacity. An Associate degree can count as two years of work experience and a four year degree can count as four years of work experience.
LICENSE:
Applicant must have a valid Driver's License at the date of hire and said license must be maintained while employee is in this position.
