Job Description
Position Summary [Purpose and Scope]: This role reports to the President and CEO. Responsible for the overall operations of the resale store, facility and inventory maintenance, and staff. Responsible for establishing and maintaining all outside relations for the resale store. Responsible for volunteer management and supervision. This role functions similarly to a small business general manager, requiring the ability to operate with limited corporate infrastructure, exercise independent judgment across all operational areas, and problem-solve in a lean, resource-conscious environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the general operation and success of the resale store, including receiving and processing donations, as well as displaying merchandise. Manage and direct the sales performance of the store. Utilize and analyze sales reports for optimal store performance. Prepare and maintain all financial documentation of resale store. Coordinate and manage staff, volunteers and their schedules and assigned duties. Recruit and train volunteers in resale store duties. Recruit donations and otherwise support fundraising activities of SPARCC. Be responsible for the positive image of the resale store and promoting its purpose in support of SPARCC, to the community. Oversee all facilities maintenance of the resale store Oversee customer service and communication with the public, donors, and SPARCC program participants to ensure positive, empowering experiences Builds customer loyalty through in-store experience, utilization of social media and email capture Keep supervisor apprised of activities, informally and by written word Perform other duties as necessary or assignedEducation or Equivalent:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 3+ of supervisory experience in a customer focused management role and retail sales experience preferred.Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Experience managing a small business, independent retail operation, or nonprofit resale environment preferred. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft suite and ability to adapt to internal applications. Experience managing all aspects of a retail store (Sales and Customer Service Leadership, Inventory Management, Human Resources Management, Merchandising). Experience managing P&L, daily cash reconciliation, and basic financial reporting at the store or business level. Comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities - including hands-on floor work, alongside supervisory and administrative responsibilities. Must pass Florida Department of Law Enforcement criminal background check, be eligible to work in the U.S., have reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license.Upon hiring:
must pass and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification; and documented hours of approved continuing education annually.Physical Requirements :
Position requires physical ability to lift approximately 40 lbs., sit or be on feet for extend periods of time, bend freely, and reach objects over head. Must be able to converse on a telephone and use a keyboard effectively.Agency Requirements:
