POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Key Holder is primarily responsible for sales and merchandising duties in the local St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store. This person will also be responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of the management team. A "get it done" attitude, an eye for treasures and a keen sense of satisfaction from knowing that your hard work helps provide funding to people in need is critical for your success!
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties including bank deposits, opening/closing processes, cash handling and bank deposits in absence of management staff Ensure that staff and volunteer follow standard operating procedures in absence of management team Provides a great experience for customers while donating, shopping and checking-out purchases; resolve customer issues with tact and diplomacy. Selects and sorts merchandise, reviewing for damage, stains, etc. Maintains attractive and neat displays on sales floor Tags and prices merchandise under the direction of store manager Uses cash register to total sales Ensures and clean and attractive shopping experience for customers
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who has a "ready, set, happy!" mindset Have a keen eye for detail Ability to go above and beyond for customers, volunteers and staff Can stay positive in challenging situations Must be reliable and on time! This is an active job; frequent lifting, walking, standing, bending, and squatting will be a part of the daily routine. Lifting of up to 50 pounds required Previous retail and cash handling experience required Experience working with volunteers or supervising team members a plus Ability to support a Catholic, faith-based non-profit organization Bilingual Spanish speaking is a strong plus!
