We cater logistics strategies and processes to our customers' needs by utilizing the latest information systems and advanced technologies. Summary The Assistant Manager - High & Heavy will contribute to expanding the company's freight forwarding services by identifying business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics and freight forwarding needed to further expand the company's market presence. Additionally, as this role serves as a middle management position within the company, the candidate must motivate and lead team members while setting goals aligned with the company's strategic direction. The Assistant Manager should also have a strong understanding of the company's internal systems and continuously manage financial settlements and performance tracking. Responsibilities Project & Heavy-Haul Operations Manage end-to-end transportation of oversized, overweight, and project cargo, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time delivery. Develop and execute transportation plans, including route surveys, permits, equipment selection, loading/unloading, and project scheduling. Monitor daily operations, resolve transportation issues, and provide regular project updates to customers and stakeholders. Carrier, Vendor & Partner Management Source, qualify, negotiate, and manage specialized carriers, vendors, and project logistics partners. Coordinate daily transportation schedules, equipment availability, and field operations with carriers, EPC contractors, ports, and terminals. Develop strategic carrier relationships while monitoring performance, safety, service quality, and capacity. Sales & Business Development Identify and develop new business opportunities in Project Logistics, Heavy Haul, Freight Forwarding, Ocean, Air, Drayage, and OTR transportation. Prepare quotations, transportation proposals, and project cost analyses while supporting customer meetings and commercial negotiations. Build strong customer relationships and drive profitable business growth through strategic sales initiatives. Compliance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations, permit requirements, and company safety standards. Prepare operational reports, KPIs, cost analyses, contracts, SOPs, and other project documentation. Identify operational risks and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, service quality, and profitability. Travel & Field Operations Travel domestically and internationally to customer facilities, manufacturing plants, ports, terminals, warehouses, and project sites as required to support project execution. Perform on-site inspections, route surveys, cargo loading/unloading supervision, and coordinate field operations with customers, carriers, and project stakeholders. Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to urgent operational issues to support critical project schedules and customer requirements. Up to 10% domestic travel Additional Responsibilities Maintain existing client relationships and support onboarding of new clients. Provide technical guidance on equipment selection, cargo securement, and routing strategies. Conduct market research on trends and competitors; lead and direct assigned staff. Perform other project logistics and related duties as assigned.
