Diesel Shop Manager Kudzu Staffing Full-Time | Competitive Pay Based on Experience Kudzu Staffing is seeking an experienced Diesel Shop Manager to lead day-to-day operations of a busy diesel truck repair and fleet maintenance shop. This is a leadership position for an experienced diesel professional who understands heavy-duty truck repair, fleet maintenance, shop operations, employee management, and regulatory compliance . What You'll Do Direct daily operations and planning for the diesel shop and fleet. Lead and supervise technicians, shop foremen, shop assistants, service writers, and tow/pilot car drivers. Schedule and oversee vehicle repairs and preventive maintenance. Establish and maintain shop performance standards, procedures, and KPIs. Monitor repair times, productivity, quality, and maintenance costs. Manage parts inventory, purchasing, and outside repair vendors. Maintain department budgets and control maintenance expenses. Ensure timely invoicing and accurate service documentation. Interview, train, coach, and conduct performance evaluations for employees. Use computerized diagnostic, maintenance, and tracking systems. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations . Develop efficient processes and procedures to improve productivity. Build relationships with OEMs and outside vendors. Provide regular reports to senior leadership. Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and employee retention. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent. 10+ years of diesel technician experience. 10+ years of fleet management, shop operations, or general management experience preferred. Experience managing 10+ employees . 5-10 years of parts experience; truck parts experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of diesel truck repair and maintenance. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Experience with maintenance/TMS software; Fullbay experience is a plus. Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Customer service experience. Budgeting and financial management experience. Manufacturer-specific experience or certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds when necessary.
