Job Description

Position Overview:
The Shop Manager will oversee daily operations and maintenance of Class 8 Semi Trucks and Company Equipment.
Essential Functions:
Lead and oversee all daily shop operations, including workflow, scheduling, and inventory management Ensure high-quality repairs, efficient productivity, and compliance with all safety standards in a clean, well-organized shop environment Recruit, train, coach, and manage technicians, holding the team accountable for performance and quality of work Plan, prioritize, and manage work orders to minimize vehicle downtime and maximize shop efficiency Maintain appropriate inventory levels of parts, tools, and equipment to support timely repairs Perform and/or oversee complex diagnostics, repairs, and road testing for safety-critical issues Ensure all fleet vehicles are maintained in accordance with preventative maintenance (PM) schedules Coordinate facility, building, and yard maintenance as needed Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Job Requirements 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel repair, specifically with Class 8 trucks 2+ years of experience managing a shop or supervising mechanics/technicians Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate, and evaluate a technical team Strong working knowledge of ABS, air brake systems, electrical systems, emissions, tires, and diagnostic software High school diploma or GED required; trade or vocational training preferred Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities Comfortable managing shop communications, including emails and phone calls Proficient in basic computer systems and shop management software Ability to meet physical demands of the role (lifting up to 100+ lbs., bending, climbing, standing for extended periods, etc.) Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred Must pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record check; no DUI or drug convictions within the past five years Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in
