Minimum of 2+ years of successful retail management or buying experience Proficiency in interpreting and using retail financial metrics to drive key performance indicators Demonstrated ability to set standards and hold team members accountable Effective communication skills & time management Commitment to deliver an outstanding customer experience Knowledge of the outdoor industry, pertaining to camping, hiking, climbing, and paddlingResponsibilities:
Manage the hard goods or footwear buying process throughout the year. Create compelling assortments for each department to create a unique shopping experience that builds customer loyalty and profitable sales, including strong vendor relationships Leverages tools, reports, and insights to make appropriate business adaptations that result in increased sales and service Active participant in marketing meetings and events. Keep up with the latest MAP policies and brands' marketing strategies - be able to communicate these factors with the marketing team and floor staff Assist with the data entry of all inventory items, efficiently run POS system, and manage online website Manage the day-to-day demands of a year-round rental and consignment program, as well as grow these categories to ensure outdoor recreation is accessible to all. The Assistant Store Manager - Hardgoods or Footwear Buyer will be entirely responsibility for the inventory management of the hardgoods or footwear department, as well as the merchandising and training of store staff. They will report to the Store Manager and will manage a team of retail staff to deliver on business goals of sales, service, and merchandising standards. The Assistant Store Manager will help develop a training program and offer quarterly training nights, as well as manage vendor clinics. They will handle scheduling, staffing, payroll, and other HR duties that are requested by the accounting team. The Assistant Store Manager will also manage consignment program, which includes inventory acquisition, data entry, staff training, consignee payouts, dusty inventory reports, and markdowns.Job Type:
