Job Description

Iowa Western is currently seeking a Part-Time Evening & Weekend Facility Supervisor for the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. This position reports to the Director of the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides general oversight of the Marshall Wellness Center during evening and weekend hours, emphasizing quality front-line customer service to students, employees, and visitors. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides guidance and oversight to student and part-time workers for the Marshall Wellness Center, a 92,000-square foot multi-use fitness and recreation facility that opened in fall 2019 and features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, and an 80-yard indoor field turf.
  • Provide guidance and support to student employees in the management of the Marshall Wellness Center.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to members and guests of the Marshall Wellness Center.
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures of the Marshall Wellness Center.
  • Deescalate situations that involve conflict..
  • Document and report incidents and injuries that occur in the Marshall Wellness Center
  • Operate building systems to include computer, lighting, audio/visual and sports equipment systems.
Associate's Degree required. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire). Experience in a customer-service related field and experience that demonstrates a commitment to delivering first-rate customer service and exceptional support on a daily basis. Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students and that illustrates the ability to problem-solve, confront policy violators, and diffuse volatile situations. Ability to lift up to 10lbs Ability to sit or stand or walk for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
