As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition. The primary function of the Department Lead is to oversee and direct daily operations within your respective department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The Department Lead is responsible for production execution, standard work adherence, and real-time issue escalation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Daily execution of the production schedule, maintaining expected output,quality, and efficiency Accountable for assigning and prioritizing department labor and line coverage (breaks, relief, reallocation) Responsible for coaching and training on standard work and best practices Ensure quality assurance and non-conformance control and ability to escalate issues in real-time Accurate reporting of production via Plex including scrap and downtime reporting Verifies workcenter status accuracy via Plex Solid understanding of process flow and job integrity Facilitates cross-functional coordination as needed Has the authority to stop production for safety, quality, or process concerns Ability to partner with the plant scheduler to ensure inventory accuracy and meet delivery expectations. Still has to run production and meet a minimum number of earned hours daily. Required Skill/Knowledge High School Diploma or equivalent education/certification - technical or trade school background preferred Manufacturing background Previous department operator experience preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual (Spanish) Able to navigate ERP System ( Plex) Production Module(s) Must be able to work in a fast manufacturing facility.
