Full Job Description CNC Shop Operations Supervisor Reports To:
Plant Manager Overview Step into a pivotal leadership role on our production floor, guiding daily machining operations to hit safety, quality, and output goals. You'll coordinate people, machines, and materials so every order leaves on time, on budget, and up to Rusco Manufacturing's exacting standards. A Day in the Role Morning starts with a quick floor walk and huddle to align priorities, review safety notes, and set targets. You'll balance work orders across cells, check on tooling and material readiness, and remove roadblocks that could impact schedule adherence. Throughout the day, you coach operators, verify quality checkpoints, monitor run rates, and partner with maintenance and quality to keep everything moving smoothly. You'll close the day tracking metrics, updating the ERP, and planning the next shift's work.
What You Will Lead Supervision and Coordination:
Direct daily activities of production teams; assign jobs, set priorities, and align resources across the CNC shop.
Production Management:
Maintain workflow, monitor throughput, and ensure schedules and budgets are met.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
Champion safe work practices and verify adherence to quality standards at every stage.
Team Leadership and Development:
Coach, mentor, and motivate a diverse group of operators and technicians to excel.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; recommend and implement practical improvements.
Administrative Duties:
Track production data in ERP, report results, and maintain accurate documentation. Qualifications Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment. 1-2 years in CNC Turning, Milling, or a general machine job shop. Working knowledge of production processes, safety protocols, and quality control practices. Strong leadership and team-building abilities; skilled at motivating and developing people. Sharp problem-solver who acts quickly to resolve operational issues. Comfortable under pressure; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiar with ERP systems. Clear, professional communicator across all levels of the organization. About Rusco Manufacturing, Inc.
