ED Unit Clerk Department:
Emergency Department Schedule:
Full Time•
Shift:
6:00pm - 6:00am •PRN also available. Job Description Provides indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff. Retrieves all lab results and brings to the attention of the Charge Nurse. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to patient's needs. Enters and verifies orders in the computer system. Documents the time orders were placed in the computer on Emergency Department Record. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent with one (1) year experience in an acute care hospital Knowledge of medical terminology BLS certification Basic computer knowledge Able to effectively communicate in English (both verbally and in writing)
