Job Description:
The Keyholder 1 is a full-time budtender who has been trained and approved to open or close the store when needed. This role serves as a flexible support position, stepping into leadership coverage during vacations, call-outs, or high-demand periods. To maintain readiness, Keyholder 1 employees are scheduled one opening or closing shift per month. Outside of these shifts, they perform standard budtender responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening & Closing Support (As Needed) Execute opening or closing procedures when scheduled or requested Follow all security, alarm, access, and cash-handling protocols Assist with till counts, safe procedures, and documentation when assigned Ensure store is secure and operationally ready for business Budtender & Customer Experience Provide exceptional, compliant cannabis sales and education Deliver welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional guest interactions Support sales goals while maintaining regulatory compliance Store Presentation & Standards Assist with daily merchandising, restocking, and floor maintenance Uphold visual standards to ensure the store remains clean, organized, and inviting Operational & Inventory Support Accurately process POS transactions Support inventory handling, counts, and product organization Communicate issues or discrepancies to leadership promptly Security & Policy Compliance Adhere to all loss prevention, safety, and compliance policies Protect company assets and maintain ethical conduct at all times Scheduling & Expectations Full-time budtender schedule with one scheduled open or close per month Available for on-call leadership coverage when business needs arise Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts Reliable transportation required to ensure readiness when called upon Qualifications 3+ years of retail experience (cannabis experience preferred)Strong communication and customer service skillsComfortable with POS systems and basic inventory toolsReliable, detail-oriented, and professionalDemonstrated readiness to step into elevated responsibility when neededInterest in leadership development and growth opportunities
