Jobs › Mashpee, MA › Assistant Store Manager The Black Dog Assistant Store Manager Mashpee, MA Apply Assistant Retail Store Manager (year-round, full-time) The Black Dog The Assistant Retail Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the store, generating maximum sales potential, recruiting and developing staff, executing the highest level of customer service outlined by The Black Dog Culture, maintaining store visual standards and merchandising, and controlling expenses and shortages. Assistant Retail Store Manager Qualifications and Skills High School diploma or equivalent Must have at least one-year supervisory experience, preferably in the area of retail management Prior experience with operating a cash register and credit card authorization machine; ability to troubleshoot when necessary Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Must have proven excellent customer service skills Strong organizational skills; ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and remain calm and respectful Ability to be a team player Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment Must be able to reflect the professional attire of The Black Dog Tavern Company Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stock room, carry merchandise, unpack boxes, stand and walk for extended periods of time, and to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently Weekend and Holiday availability required.

Competitive salary and benefits, company matched 401k plan, bonus potential, and generous paid time off Career advancement opportunities A fun atmosphere with enthusiastic, supportive coworkers Generous employee discount and an opportunity to work in an idyllic seaside location Assistant Retail Store Manager Job Responsibilities Maintain visual presentation standards that are consistent with BD philosophy and direction; interpret and execute floor plans and guidelines Network, recruit, hire, train, and develop store associates Assume leadership role; implement, execute, and follow up on all operational policies and procedures Control store expenses within allowable parameter Understand and create awareness of the factors to impact sales volume and KPI?s; maximize sales volume and KPI?s (AT, UPT, Payroll, Customer Capture Rate) Effectively supervise the sales floor to ensure customer/associate awareness Ensure all customer concerns are addressed and resolved; prioritize customer service Motivate and develop associates to meet store/company goals and objectives; control sales associate turnover Manage and coach associate performance; communicate staff concerns to store manager Ensure that store staff is treated professionally, courteously, and respectfully Clearly delegate activities and follow-up on all direction; lead by example Take an active role in personal development Utilize all training programs/materials effectively Execute and follow-up on inventory management, including MMS, cycle counts, transfer discrepancies, negative on hands, etc. Follow up on all audit feedback Ensure accuracy in all paperwork Review and manage discounts performed in store on a weekly basis Execute and maintain BD marketing directives Communicate all merchandise-related concerns to store management team POS set-up is timely and detailed Execute markdowns and re-merchandise as needed Maintain knowledge of store merchandise, sales floor, and ensure store is well-stocked; effectively organize stockroom Ensure cleanliness and organization of store Attend meetings (in lieu of store manager absence), and actively participate in Chamber of Commerce, Business Guilds, etc. Acknowledge and respond to communication in a timely manner Support all company/management decisions Weekend and Holiday Availability required.
