Job Description
Overview ($1.00 overnight Differential) We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Overnight Grocery Assistant Manager to join our retail team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the store's overnight operations, ensuring that inventory is properly stocked, merchandising standards are maintained, and the store is prepared for the upcoming business day. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team, optimize store processes, and deliver outstanding customer service during the overnight shift. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing inventory control, overseeing pricing and merchandising strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies. You will play a vital role in maintaining efficient store operations through effective team management, inventory oversight, and adherence to company standards. Duties Lead and supervise overnight staff to ensure smooth store operations during the shift. Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, stock rotation, and stocktaking procedures. Ensure accurate pricing, signage placement, and merchandising standards are maintained throughout the store. Manage purchasing activities by coordinating with suppliers and handling procurement processes. Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems operation, and cashiering duties. Conduct regular inventory control checks to minimize shrinkage and optimize stock levels. Train new employees on store policies, safety protocols, customer service standards, and POS operation. Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet sales targets. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance within the store environment. Collaborate with management on budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and administrative duties. Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with team members across shifts and departments. Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and enhance store visibility. Handle customer inquiries professionally while fostering a positive shopping experience. Experience Proven leadership skills in supervising teams during night shifts are highly valued. Ideal applicants will possess excellent organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities. Experience in recruiting staff, conducting interviews, training & development programs, budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, and implementing sales management strategies will be considered advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of retail sales principles including pricing strategies, promotional activities, stock management techniques, and customer service excellence.
