Job Description

Summary The Department Manager has the responsibility for planning and directing the strategic direction of the Extrusion department and processes, both in production and maintenance. The Department Manager is responsible for continuous improvement and driving the department to meet objectives to meet and exceed the expectations of our customer and lead a safe and productive team.
You Will:
Lead the Extrusion Department to ensure efficient production operations. Develop and execute strategic plans for optimized use of materials, machines, maintenance, and manpower. Prepare the department budget and maintain adherence while managing production cost and product quality. Manage direct reports and extrusion team members to ensure positive performance management, professional development, job training, and recognition. Participate in TPM efforts while driving a culture of continuous improvement. Follow and enforce company and local work rules, safety rules, GMP, policies, procedures and work instructions. Initiate action for safety concerns and food safety issues. Regularly interface with Quality, Logistics, and Maintenance to discuss relative policies, procedures, and resolve concerns as recognized Other duties as assigned.
You Have:
B.A. or B.S. in relevant field preferred, plastics industry experience preferred. 5+ years relevant manufacturing experience in leadership and/or operations required. Team oriented and self-motivated. Flexible on job assignment. Demonstrated technical and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and operate effectively within established budgets. Demonstrated communication skills to effectively collaborate with different audiences including but not limited to; direct reports, peers, management, and customers.
