Assistant Manager - Avis Rent a Car

About the Role We're looking for a dependable and motivated Assistant Manager to help oversee daily operations at our airport rental car location in Kalamazoo. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines customer service, problem solving, team support, and operational management in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, calm under pressure, learns systems quickly, and is comfortable leading by example. Initial paid training will take place at our Holland location before transitioning to Kalamazoo. What You'll Do Assist with daily rental counter operations and customer service Help manage vehicle flow, reservations, and scheduling needs Support and guide employees during busy periods Handle customer concerns and help resolve issues professionally Learn and operate company reservation/rental systems Assist with opening/closing procedures and general operations Help maintain organization, accountability, and workflow throughout the location Work closely with ownership during an upcoming operational transition What We're Looking For Previous leadership, supervisor, or management experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment Comfortable learning computer systems and following procedures Dependable attendance and reliable transportation Weekend and some holiday availability required (holiday pay provided) Willingness to jump in and help wherever needed Hospitality, retail, banking, hotel, or rental experience is a plus What You'll Get Competitive hourly pay Performance/bonus opportunities Hands-on paid training Opportunity for long-term growth and leadership Supportive small-team environment Employee rental discounts About Us We are a locally owned Avis Budget rental agency focused on providing excellent customer service and keeping operations running smoothly.
