An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Position Summary:
The Family Store Assistant Manager supports the store manager with the planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluation of the day-to-day operations ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position works alongside store associates to assist customers and serves as the manager in the absence of the store manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist in the supervision of clerks in performance of duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.

Assist with the training for new personnel.

Assist with ensuring cash receipts are banked at end of business day and information is sent to appropriate personnel as required.

Attend monthly staff meetings for managers and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.

Assist with leadership of customer development and retention plans to ensure an excellent customer experienceReport safety hazards. Responsible for the protection of personnel, property, and building.

Report to Manager any detrimental behavior by clerks.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent (required), Associates degree (preferred), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities2 years experience in retail sales
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePointProficient in operating
Point of Sales SystemCertificates and Licenses:
