Pizzeria Maria is a quality‑driven, fast‑growing pizzeria based in Sparta, MI. We're obsessive about dough, bake, and consistency. We run a tight, professional operation with a focus on great food, smooth service, and a healthy team culture. We're expanding and looking for a hands‑on Manager who wants to grow with us. The Role We're looking for a working manager who can run high‑energy pizza shifts, lead a team, and think like an owner. You'll be on the floor, not in an office—coaching the line, watching ticket times, taking care of guests, and managing the numbers.
You will own:
Shift execution (speed, quality, cleanliness, guest experience) Labor and basic food cost management on your shifts Training, coaching, and holding the team accountable Maintaining Pizzeria Maria standards on dough, make‑line, and bake Communication with ownership about wins, problems, and ideas What You'll Do Lead shifts from prep to close, ensuring smooth service and strong ticket times Schedule appropriately for volume while staying within labor targets Train new team members and cross‑train existing staff Enforce portion control, recipe standards, and proper product handling Handle basic inventory, waste tracking, and ordering support Address guest concerns on the spot with professionalism and warmth Keep the store clean, organized, and inspection‑ready at all times Model the pace, attitude, and work ethic you expect from the team What We're Looking For 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience (shift lead, supervisor, assistant manager, or manager); pizza or fast‑casual experience is a plus but not required Comfortable running busy nights and making real‑time decisions High standards for food quality, cleanliness, and service Able to coach, correct, and hold people accountable while staying respectful Basic understanding of labor and food cost, or a strong desire to learn Reliable, honest, and steady under pressure Willing to work evenings and weekends (we'll plan schedules fairly and in advance) What We Offer Competitive pay (base + performance‑based bonus; discussed in interview) Clear expectations and direct support from ownership Real input on systems, menu, and how we grow Opportunity to advance as we add locations and expand the Pizzeria Maria brand A culture that values doing things the right way, not the easy way Who This Job Is Perfect For A strong shift lead or assistant manager ready to step into full ownership of a store A current manager who's tired of corporate politics and wants to work closely with an owner who actually cares about the product Someone who enjoys being on the line, leading from the front, and making a visible impact every shift How to Apply Send a brief email or message with: Your resume or a short work history 2-3 sentences on why you're interested in Pizzeria Maria One example of a time you improved a restaurant's operations, people, or guest experience
