An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Assist the store manager in overseeing daily operations and achieving business goalsLead, motivate, and train team members to maintain high performance standardsEnsure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptlyManage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandiseCreate and adjust employee schedules to maintain optimal staffing levelsImplement and maintain company policies and proceduresAssist in financial management, including cash handling and reportingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentParticipate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of team membersStep in for the store manager when necessaryQualificationsProven leadership experience in retail or a similar customer-facing environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProficiency in customer service and conflict resolutionDemonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectivelyExperience with inventory management and cash handlingFamiliarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferredFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 poundsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
