This position assists in the management of activities required to accomplish a thrift store's goals by driving store revenue through merchandising, following loss prevention procedures, keeping the store clean, providing excellent customer service and performing as a role model to the employees and volunteers for the achievement of the SVdP mission.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Responsibilities:
Accountable for keeping proper inventory controls and cash controls Understands and operates the POS system, completes credit and cash transactions Completes opening procedures as; takes money deposit to bank, checks cashier drawers for proper amount and change for day's business Completes accurately closing paperwork as; counting down drawer and prepares depositStore Management Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility of total store operation when on duty to acting as manager Meets daily, weekly and monthly sales goals set by the strategic sales plan Assists with processing, stocking, pricing and merchandising donated items Knowledgeable about product and services and ensure that customer service resolution procedures are followed by staff and volunteers Must know all aspects of store operation and work a flexible scheduleSupervisory Responsibilities:
Assists with managing and motivating staff (including performance management and recognition duties) Assists with training, directing and appraising staff and volunteers Assists with making schedules for proper manpower utilization Assists with planning and organizing workload and staff assignments Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and proceduresOrganization Mission and Policies:

Stays up-to-date on advances in the industry in order to improve Society operations Shares expertise and knowledge to support the growth and development of others and enabling them to grow and improve in performance Consistently applies knowledge and expertise to ensure high standards of performance Seeks and takes advantage of opportunities to increase knowledge and expertise of self and othersEDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred Three (3) years' experience and/or training that included retail management; non-profit experience preferred Maintain a valid driver's license and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as neededSKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of:
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Retail and merchandising management (Beginning level) Mathematics and reading comprehension (Intermediate level) POS, preferred ADP HRIS, preferredSkills and Abilities:
