Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Grocery Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail grocery establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving sales growth. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a commitment to creating a welcoming shopping environment. The Grocery Store Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the store runs efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with company standards. Duties Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance to foster a motivated and efficient team. Oversee inventory management processes, including stock ordering, receiving shipments, and maintaining optimal stock levels through effective inventory control. Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product presentation and maximize sales opportunities. Manage daily store operations such as cash handling, cashiering, POS system management, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping. Develop and execute purchasing plans and pricing strategies to remain competitive while maintaining profitability. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, store policies, and procedures. Conduct regular sales analysis and manage retail math calculations to meet sales targets. Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolve complaints promptly, and promote excellent customer service standards. Coordinate marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Oversee shift management schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours. Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with administrative tasks related to employee orientation, training & development. Experience Proven management experience within a grocery store or retail environment with supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems, POS operations, and retail math. Strong background in retail sales strategies, merchandising, pricing, and marketing. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding employees, and conducting employee orientation sessions. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing decisions, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping and payroll processing. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases. Effective communication skills with the ability to lead teams confidently while fostering a positive work environment. Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience within the grocery or retail sector is highly desirable.
