Job Description

A General Manager is a local board employee who is responsible in the managing and operation an ABC store. The General Manger, along with a local board member, evaluates the performance of employees. The General Manager will serve as Deputy Finance Officer and Budget Officer. An employee in this position must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with municipal officials, ABC Board members, and the public in resolving customer problems, inquiries, and complaints. Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in applying local, state, and federal laws and regulations of the sales of alcoholic beverages. This position is supervised by the local ABC Board members.
Duties of the positions:
Creates orders for alcoholic beverages for the store inventory Checks the merchandise as it goes into inventory Conducts inventory of merchandise Checks prices and code numbers on merchandise Deposits daily cash receipts and purchases change for the store Meets with distiller representatives to discuss new products and destroy non-salable merchandise Interviews prospective employees, in conjunction with ABC Board, and trains new employees of the ABC store Assigns work details to employees Lists and deletes items from inventory Monitors the surveillance system for shoplifters and, if appropriate, confers with customers Assists in maintaining store appearance Performs related duties as required Maintains a working relationship with mixed beverage accounts Represent the local Board at NC ABC Association meetings Ability to maintain effective working relationship with store's CPA to carry out all accounting duties assigned
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages Considerable knowledge in all phases of retail store operation Considerable knowledge in inventorying, purchasing, and merchandising products Ability to supervise and assign work to employees Ability to communicate effectively with the ABC Board and carry out their directions Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees, Board members, state officials, and local officials
Pay:
$44,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
