Role Description The Assistant Store Manager is a contract, on-site role based at the Caldwell, NJ location, supporting daily operations and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This role assists with opening and closing procedures, supervises floor activities, and helps manage inventory, merchandising, and product displays across wine, spirits, beer, and specialty items. The Assistant Store Manager provides hands-on customer service, helps guests with product selection, and supports in-store events and tastings. Responsibilities include coaching team members on service standards, monitoring loss prevention practices, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and coordinating with the Store Manager on sales goals and promotional initiatives. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.

Interpersonal skills:
clear, professional Communication skills for interacting with guests, partners, and team members.
Operational skills:
experience with Store Management, including daily operations, inventory support, and merchandising.
Security and compliance skills:
familiarity with Retail Loss Prevention practices and adherence to age-verification and regulatory requirements. Prior retail or hospitality experience, preferably in wine, spirits, or specialty food and beverage. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move cases of product, and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in time management and scheduling. High school diploma or equivalent; wine and spirits knowledge or relevant certifications are a plus.
