Job Summary:

We're looking for a reliable, customer-focused Shift Lead to help guide our Somerset dispensary team. This role blends day-to-day retail responsibilities with leadership support—including mentoring staff, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth shift operations. You'll be responsible for setting the tone on the floor, supporting transactions, and driving exceptional guest service while also acting as a go-to for your team during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead by example to ensure a welcoming and professional environment Oversee daily shift operations and delegate tasks to Dispensary Associates Provide coaching, mentorship, and on-the-spot training to team members Open and/or close the store in accordance with company protocols Maintain accurate cash handling and drawer reconciliation procedures Ensure compliance with all state/local cannabis regulations during your shift Assist with inventory management, audits, and restocking Monitor signage, pricing, and promotional materials for accuracy Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently Support guests by guiding product selection based on preferences and needs Promote loyalty programs and current in-store promotions Uphold cleanliness and organization across all sales floor areas Participate in ongoing product and compliance education

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years old High school diploma or equivalent Open availability Tuesday through Saturday Reliable transportation Prior experience in a customer-facing retail role Previous leadership experience preferred (retail or cannabis strongly preferred) Passion for cannabis education and customer care Ability to manage and motivate a team under pressure Familiarity with NJ cannabis laws or willingness to learn Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check (we'll reimburse the $68 fee) Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Tech-savvy with basic proficiency in POS systems and productivity tools (Word, Weedmaps, Canva, etc.)
