We are looking for an experienced, motivated leader to manage our Angel Fire location for the 2026-2027 winter season. This is a hands-on management position for someone who enjoys leading a small team, providing excellent customer service, and being actively involved in the day-to-day operation of a busy ski shop. Our primary focus is providing guests with an efficient, friendly, and professional ski and snowboard rental experience. Position Overview The Seasonal Store Manager will oversee the daily operation of Cottam's Ski Shop of Angel Fire, including ski and snowboard rentals, equipment tuning, retail sales, staffing, inventory, and guest service . You will lead a team of approximately 5-6 rental and retail associates and work alongside your team during busy periods. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable making decisions, and able to maintain a positive work environment while keeping operations efficient throughout the season. Primary Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation of the Angel Fire store Lead, schedule, train, and supervise a team of approximately 5-6 employees Create a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Ensure guests receive friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service Oversee ski and snowboard rental operations, including boot fitting and equipment selection Ensure bindings are properly adjusted and tested according to applicable standards and procedures Oversee ski and snowboard tuning, maintenance, and repair Maintain organized rental equipment and storage areas Oversee retail merchandise, displays, sales, and inventory Monitor rental and retail inventory and communicate equipment or supply needs Handle customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reconciliation Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inviting store Coordinate with ownership and management regarding staffing, operations, inventory, and store performance Assist with snow removal and other operational needs as necessary Lead by example and work alongside the team during peak rental periods Qualifications We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in retail, rental, hospitality, ski industry, or similar operations Comfortable supervising and motivating a small team Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities Dependable and capable of taking ownership of store operations Friendly, professional, and committed to excellent customer service Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during weekends and holidays Able to communicate effectively with employees, guests, and ownership Willing to learn and follow ski and snowboard equipment procedures and safety standards Passionate about skiing, snowboarding, or the mountain lifestyle Previous ski shop management, rental, tuning, or ski binding experience is strongly preferred , but we are willing to consider candidates with strong management experience in a related industry. Schedule This is a full-time seasonal management position beginning approximately November 15, 2026 . The manager should be available throughout the winter ski season, including weekends and holidays. The position will include preseason preparation, employee training, and getting the store ready for opening.
