Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Store Manager specializing in surgical and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) products to join our dynamic retail team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in retail management, product knowledge in medical supplies, and exceptional leadership skills. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the store's operational functions, oversee daily sales activities, and ensure outstanding customer service. Your role will be pivotal in driving sales growth, managing inventory, and fostering a positive team environment to meet organizational goals. Duties Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management. Lead and supervise retail staff, providing training, coaching, and development to enhance performance and customer engagement. Manage inventory levels for surgical and DME products, ensuring accurate stock control and timely replenishment. Implement merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotional displays. Conduct employee orientation sessions, participate in interviewing prospective team members, and support recruiting efforts. Handle cash register operations, POS systems, cash handling procedures, and payroll processing with accuracy. Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Support operational management tasks such as bookkeeping, budgeting, and shift management to ensure smooth store functioning. Experience Proven assistant store manager experience within the retail industry, particularly with surgical or DME products preferred. Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, inventory management systems, POS systems, and merchandising practices. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills including managerial communication and phone etiquette; bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous. Familiarity with retail math concepts such as pricing strategies, sales management, and basic financial calculations. Experience with employee training & development programs along with recruiting and onboarding new staff members. Competence in operational management tasks including budgeting, cash handling, bookkeeping, and inventory control.
