From the vibrant array of fresh produce to the freshly made prepared foods and gourmet treats, Uncle Giuseppe's always provides a special experience for customers. With quality being a top priority, they always ensure that everything is made fresh every day and only with the finest ingredients! Our Smithtown store is seeking to add a FT Assistant Cheese Manager to its busy Cheese Department. Our Assistant Cheese Managers prepares, stocks, serves and merchandises cheese and related food products to our customers and maintains our high standards of safety and sanitation. This is a hands on position. Responsibilities Supports a positive customer experience, providing guests with a unique, enthusiastic and informational experience within our Cheese DepartmentAssist the Cheese Manager with ordering, inventory, staff schedules, training, and other related functionsProvide information to customers on the variety of cheeses, pairing, seasonal items and assistance with their questionsPacks, labels and merchandises cheese and related items according to Uncle Giuseppe's policiesMaintains the entire work area in clean and sanitary conditions while following all company safety procedures within the storeSupervises a staff of cheese clerksOther duties and functions as assigned Requirements and skills HS Diploma or equivalentMust have at least 3 years of experience working in a Cheese Department with one + years as Assistant Cheese ManagerA strong understanding of the many different types of cheese, temperatures, storage, inventory, tastes, etc, is necessary for this positionExcellent customer service skillsMust have a very high passion for cheese!
