Direct Mail Print Shop Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Direct Mail Print Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our in-house digital print facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with digital printing equipment, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage workflow, meet tight deadlines, and maintain exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily print production operations including printing, finishing, inserting, and mailing. Supervise a team of support staff. Operate and maintain high-volume digital printers and mail equipment. Coordinate schedules to ensure timely completion of direct mail projects. Collaborate with internal teams to verify print files and ensure data accuracy for variable printing jobs. Ensure compliance with USPS regulations and optimize postal preparation processes. Perform quality checks throughout production to meet branding and quality standards. Monitor inventory and order print materials and supplies as needed. Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate service on print and mail equipment. Analyze workflow and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Maintain accurate records of production, materials usage, and job status.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in digital print production or direct mail operations. Proficiency with digital print and mail systems; knowledge of RIP software and workflow tools (e.g., Fiery, EFI). Familiarity with variable data printing and data processing software. Strong understanding of USPS guidelines and mail prep requirements. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. High school diploma or equivalent required.
