What You'll Do Help run daily steel fabrication shop operations and keep jobs on schedule Lead and train welders, fitters, cutters, machine operators, and shop personnel Read structural drawings, blueprints, and fabrication drawings Oversee cutting and thermal processing using CNC plasma, laser, saws, and related equipment Support fit-up, assembly, welding, forming, and shaping Perform dimensional inspection and maintain material traceability Safely oversee overhead cranes, forklifts, rigging, loading, and material handling Identify bottlenecks, missing material, quality issues, and production problems Help manage manpower, overtime, workflow, safety, and accountability Step in and run the shop floor when the Shop Manager is unavailable Basic Skills Required Read piece marks and material sizes Follow fabrication drawings and written instructions Communicate clearly with employees and management Preferred 1+ year of steel or metal fabrication experience Familiarity with Tekla PowerFab, barcode/QR production tracking, digital shop drawings, and tablets or computers used for shop-floor production tracking Competitive pay based on experience.
