Job Summary Since 1979, The Filling Station has been providing quality reproduction Chevrolet & GMC parts to restorers and street rodders alike. We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager to lead our retail operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store functions, drive sales growth, manage staff, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your leadership will inspire a high-performing team while maintaining operational excellence across all facets of the store. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive retail management experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to motivate and develop team members. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the customer experience and achieve business objectives in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
  • Needs to be able to research and use deductive reasoning, as many answers are discovered and not known
  • Needs to be able to resolve escalated customer complaints and deal with difficult customers Payroll

    • Weekly Federal Taxes Payments
    • Weekly Child Support and Garnishments Payments
    • Ledger Reporting
    • Generating End of Quarter Reports and Tax Filing Paperwork, coordinate with accounting
    • End of Year Reporting (W2s, 1099s, EFTPS, IRS, SSA, Frances, Revenue Online) Human Resources
    • Hiring, Onboarding, and Scheduling (I9s, W4s, Employee Handbook Presentation)
    • Employee Conflict Resolution
    • Employee Relations and Company Culture
    • Healthcare and Dental Insurance Administration
    • Retirement Accounts Administration
    • Time Off Requests, Approvals and Scheduling
    • Administration of FMLA, Paid Leave Oregon, Frances
    • Labor Law Compliance (EEOC, BOLI, OSHA, SAIF, UI)
    • Employee Performance Reviews, Right Ups, and Record Keeping Electronics Administration
    • Daily Server Backups
    • Basic Computer, Server, and Peripherals Troubleshooting
    • Battery Backups, Servicing and Replacements
    • VOIP Phone Administration (resetting handsets through the API, Call Routing and Dial Plans, Voicemail Set Up, Hardware troubleshooting)
    • VOIP Call Logs and Recordings Payment Processing Administration
    • Needs to know how payment processing works and how to navigate Processor Gateway API Technical Support
    • Needs a solid work understanding of Automotive Diagnostics and Repairs, and Nomenclature
    • Needs to be familiar with
    Old Chevrolets:
    Year and Model changes, Babbit Bearings, Torque Tube Bushings, Bushing and Bearing Type Water Pumps, 6volt to 12volt conversions, Fuel Guage Circuits, Early Cooling Systems, Number ID Plates, Casting Numbers, etc.
    • Needs to be able to listen and confirm the complaint Sales
    • Internet Download Internet Sales Orders, troubleshoot web cart API, update customer login details
    • Phone Take orders over the phone, guide customers through the ordering process, and provide advice on what should be ordered
    • E-mail Respond to customer e-mails about parts inquiries, technical requests, and updates about order statuses.
    • Sales Team Guidance Help sales team to continually improve customer service, communication, and technical support. Provide problem resolution guidance and more often support team in their efforts. Shipping
    • Pulling orders, picking appropriate packaging and packing orders, and shipping orders through UPS and USPS both domestically and internationally.
    • Need to be familiar with international customs forms, regulations, harmonized tariff codes, and country specific duties/taxes/VAT(IOSS)
    • Forklift Certification Trainer Receiving
    • Receive orders, inspect parts, label parts, put away parts, make inventory adjustments.
    • Build kits, press bearings, change knobs, etc. Purchasing
    • Build purchase orders in our systems, place orders, research new suppliers Accounting
    • Provide accounting support in problem resolution and tax compliance Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Clean Bathrooms, Sweep Floors, Take Out Trash and Recycling, Vacuum, Clean Windows and Counters, Replace Light Bulbs, Clean and Replace Filters, Grease Garage Doors, etc. Office Supply Ordering
    • Make sure we are stocked on all office supplies. Pens, Paper, Ink Cartridges, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Cleaning Supplies, etc. Qualifications
    • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repairs, nomenclature, and familiarity with Old Chevrolets
    • Proven management experience within the retail industry with a strong background in sales team leadership and store management.
    • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, and employee orientation.
    • Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, payroll processing, bookkeeping practices, and basic math skills.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience supervising retail sales teams in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service excellence.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively while managing time efficiently.
    • Ability to lead by example with a positive attitude; previous assistant manager or supervisory experience is preferred.
    Pay:
    $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
