An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Assist manager in overseeing the display of merchandise throughout the store. Assist in resolving customer complaints and returns. Assist in cash register operations during busy times or to provide adequate coverage. Assist in opening and closing the store as instructed. Be alert for shoplifting and follow Shoplifting Policy. Be a part of staff meetings and team building. Other duties as assigned.
